It's a nice park, if you like being social. You're going to be about 5 feet away from a trailer no matter where you park. No playground, no pool or other amenities. Shower room is small, but not awful. It's not nice looking but it gets the job done, and it's relatively clean. About an hour and a half drive from Yellowstone entrance. The town of Cody is very quaint and nice, lots of restaurants and shops around, however from Absaroka Bay, you would need to drive to get to anything except for burger king. But it's decent to stay at for a few days.
Nice campground with well maintained, clean space and friendly owners & staff. Great price ($10) to pitch tent on soft grass with very few stones - considerably cheaper than elsewhere in town. Despite only curtains for privacy in toilets & showers, again very clean.
Friendly owner. Nice laundry facilities. Well maintained. Spaces are tight. My biggest concern were the number of small yippee "dogs" that went on and on. As the spaces are close, there was no getting away from the ill-behaved animals and their ill-mannered owners. My second time to stay. Not like this the first time.
But for the other staff member who went way above & beyond, helping me out when my tent-pole broke, and who allowed me to plug my phone into his RV to charge battery; and for the general value-for-money - I'd have to be a real @$$h0!€ to have done so!
This place looks really nice and is near some fascinating locations. However, my major complaint is the showers. They were horridly unclean to the point where I decided to wear my sandals in the shower. There is no lockable doors, only two curtains. The last shower in the row only had one curtain. There was not enough room to put my shampoo and body wash without having to exit and re-enter the shower to grab them. Camp staff, please renovate your restrooms. Otherwise, if you're coming here and not planning on showering, this is a good spot, since it is very close to the Buffalo Bill museum.
Could have dropped a star as: 1) Location is a good hike from town; 2) No electric plugs for tent campers; 3) Girl at desk in the evening didn't know where/when the Rodeo Bus picked up from (so I missed both the bus and the rodeo).
Nice spot to park your rig. Narrow but some grass in between. Biggest issue was the services were in the middle of the sites, making Electric and water HU's a bit hard for us. Overall, a decent stop.
