From a historical perspective the Irma was a nice place to stay. Our room was large, and nicely appointed with period furnishings. That room and all the others in the original hotel building are on the accessed by stairs-only second floor, so potential visitors should note they will be required to carry their luggage up two flights of stairs. Also worth noting: there was a mock gunfight was staged in the street in front of the Irma at 6:30 PM (we were there on a Friday evening). The event drew large crowds which filled the Irma's tiny allotment of parking spaces as well as any other public parking for a several block radius, so if that event is scheduled on the day of your visit you may want to arrive before 5:30 or after 7.
It was a neat experience. It's not your standard hotel. It is in a great location and has a really cool history. Breakfast was delicious at the Irma restaurant below.
A fantastic historical Old West hotel. We stayed in room 29, one of the historic rooms. It was very nice, with a comfortable bed, and a nice view of the side street where the daily gunfights performances are performed. All of the wait staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced.
Once we ordered our food, it took more than an hour and twenty minutes to receive it. Unfortunately, we still had a long way to drive that evening and this was really too long to wait. I had a burger and my wife had a salad, so an hour and twenty minutes to prepare that? And they were consistently dishonest to us about how long it would take. However, my wife loved the Bear Food salad, and the burger was good. If you have the time, you might want to try it, but if you have a tight schedule - avoid this place.
I enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The food and service were quite nice. Our server was Dasha. The price was under $15 a plate for sandwich meals. There was a very nifty theatre show outside in the street with a Wild West shootout. A very nice experience.
