Great historical stop. Just like 1880 town in S.D., these are buildings mostly brought here from other places. Hole in the Wall saloon...WOW. My girls loved it and so did mom/dad. So much to see in the way of artifacts, layouts, etc. Will stop again.
I definitely recommend this place. We were traveling from Yellowstone's east gate and wanted something fun to do in Cody. We had seen this place from the road and decided to check it out. The price was reasonable and they gave us a military discount.
The pictures at this place all but take themselves. It's so easy to take pictures you'll love to have for years. Not only is the town picturesque, but you have the opportunity to learn so much about the real old west. It made me love Wyoming even more than I already do!
Was there in the early 70's
Very interesting to learn more about the old west way of life and see the actual buildings that the people lived in back in the 1800's. These buildings were taken apart from nearby locations, moved and reconstructed. Tons of artifacts on display that were really cool! It is a must see when visiting Cody, WY.
I remember an old timer telling tales of the old west.
We enjoyed touring this little western town. There is lots of interesting history and artifacts. We had a 5 year old with us and she loved trying to lasso the bull horns. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the Cody Wyoming area.
