Pickup from parking place with a golf cart. Operated by 2 seniors, great guys who immediately start telling you about the dam. Very short trip to nice visitors centre. Dam is really cool and impressive. Sort of smaller version of Hoover Dam. Spent 30 minutes here, cool to check out on your way to yellowstone.
Amazing structure, especially if you have seen the Hoover Dam! Free admission and a great gift shop where informational videos can be watched. Definitely not a site to drive past!
Excellent visitors center. The gift shop was great and the educational displays were very nice.
Very informative visitor center. I found info and pictures of the dams construction, dinosaur remains found nearby, nearby caves, and I even bought a book containing all of the edible and medicinal plants found in the Rockies. They even have free golf cart shuttles to the parking lot.
This is an impressive feat of engineering. Worth the stop. Easy to park. Its a quick walk, maybe 1000 ft, but there are free golf cart shuttles with friendly staff available to make the trek.
